Wanted: Working power supply for Commodore 64
Location: in Llandaff GB
All the details
I've recently inherited a C64 without a PSU and it's hard to find a replacement! It seems these are well known to break easily and due to being a bit of a weird approach to power, not easily substituted. Does anyone happen to have a spare knocking around that I could pinch? Much appreciated!

I remember working at the Polytechnic in Treforest ( as it was ) in the 80's. One of our students had used a Commodore 64 in his project. After some 6 months or so the power supply failed utterly. I was tasked with fixing it. In the end I removed all of the components in the box and threw them away replacing every one with similar but higher specification components. No-one builds power supplies like this nowadays. All the modern ones are whats called Switched Mode Supplies. If you can find a broken one or a not working one I can repair it for you for next to nothing.
