Wanted: Loan of dehumidifier

We urgently want to reduce the damp in our stone cottage, and are considering buying a dehumidifier. So wondering if anyone is willing to lend one for a week or two? Recognising that it's not the sort of thing to give away. Would be much appreciated, and would help us identify what sort of machine to get.
