Wanted: Flat screen TV / Monitor / Laptop either broken or working

I have recently seen a video where somebody converted a laptop screen into a realistic daylight. I thought that would be a great project. I wanted to try to do it myself so I was wondering if anybody had a broken flat screen TV / monitor or laptop they would like to donate for experimentation. It can be cracked, or otherwise totally dead. If it lights up (even if it does not show any image, it’s a bonus) Of course I can collect it at your convenience Thanks
