Wanted: Choosing a recipient when selected one doesn't collect?

Location: in Knaphill GB

All the details

I sometimes have a big clear out and always try and give the (first people to respond) the offer they have requested and the first opportunity to have that item. However, if they want one of my other items in addition, already promised to someone else, do not hear from them about collecting the original item. Then get lots of interested emails requesting the item not yet taken but requested. One of the first respondents agreed to come and collect and take one of my items, then didn't bother after I couldn't give them both of the items they would like to have, (only the one they originally agreed to take), as agreed already to give to another person. Now I have lots of emails asking for the untaken item requesting that they would like it, but not hearing back from the first recipient whether or not they still want the original item. What do I do in this situation and how do I go about now selecting a different recipient?

Hi there, this is (unfortunately) a common problem - someone requests your item, you offer it to them, then you don't hear from them ever again! Charitably I like to think that some people don't read their emails very often, or - as I do - mean to reply and then life carries on and you realise you never did. However, there are a few people who just request EVERYTHING and then only bother to collect what they really want, and some people are just rude! I had one guy, requested something and when I offered it to him he said he didn't remember requesting it!!??! I usually send one last message to the original requester saying - "If I don't hear from you by the end of today I'm offering it elsewhere" and then get in touch with one of the other interested parties. All of their (freelywheely) email addresses and their messages can be found in your inbox, here: https://www.freelywheely.com/mymessages Good luck!

I had this, I put on several items and offered them to several requesters, one woman e mailed back saying if she couldn't have all, she didn't want any, how greedy, I think the best answer is to check their addresses etc, and pass them over in the future, as they are the ones that request everything, every time, I think they sell items on other sites or bootsales, so want volume. Luckily these are not the norm, but you will always get some. Don't get disheartened keep up good recycling.
