Wanted: Borrow a kayak, rowing boat, canoe or similar?

I would love to take my two children boating on the Thames during the summer (we live in Kennington and the river runs nearby). I was going to buy a kayak or rowing boat, but permission has currently been denied by my adored spouse. I would love to borrow a small boat for a week or so to demonstrate how fun it would be to own one - to help justify a future purchase... I would be happy to leave a security deposit and will collect and return. Or if anyone has one they don't want any more I can assure it a good home.
