Wanted: Bee Swarms
Location: in Bickley GB
All the details
Warm weather is starting – and bees will be swarming. Over the last 3 to 4 years the government has put a lot of effort into supporting the survival of the honey bee - from what should be grown in gardens to attract them to saving swarms - only one in 6 swarms survive. If anyone has, or knows of a swarm please message me straight away and I will contact you – I will look at the site several times a day. I am happy to remove a swarm – absolutely no charge. I can cover Bromley and the lower halves of Bexley and Lewisham – plus the upper west side of Sevenoaks. I can manage a little height if you have steps available – but regret that I cannot climb into lofts or awkward places (too old – 88). At the last count there were 269 different types of bees in the UK – most are singles, like the bumble bee, whilst a few have small colonies of about 10 to 30 – but the size of a honey bee swarm can vary from thousands to tens of thousands. So please don't worry about the presence of one of the other 268 types – just leave them alone – they won't do any harm and are rarely a big nuisance.
