Wanted: An unwanted laptop

Hi. I am hoping someone can help me , I am in need of a laptop/tablet if anyone has an old one they no longer use at all? (Or an old phone)I only need it for normal internet use,checking emails etc (i do have a phone but it's old and has a smashed screen,and it doesn't work properly on the internet), any help would be greatly appreciated . I am a single full time father to a 3 year old boy so currently can't afford to buy one. Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help
