Fully functional, but old. No drivers for any Windows after Vista (https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-1010-printer-series/306505). Compatible cartridges still available. Only reason for disposing of it is my last XP machine died ... it did sterling service for many years and will be expected to continue to do so.

Hello I've looked on line and think this printer will work with Windows 10 and 11. Google "install HP1010 on Windows 10" and choose the you tube called "Install HP Laser jet 1010 0n Windows 10 or 11" the picture has 100% works and a guy in glasses. Hope this is helpful. Chris

Well, well - thank you very much for that! It works. A couple of points I had not realized - that the printer list was updatable, and that the selection was not obvious. I shall withdraw this item now - it is back in service. It is a pity that HP do not provide such instructions. (I have a similar problem with a ScanJet 4890 for Win 11 - and that does seem insoluble.) Cheers!

Very pleased to hear that it worked. These old laser printers are really good work horses and we have a similar Canon model. Have you tried the same procedure with the Scanjet just on the off chance that it works? Chris

Not yet in the same manner, it is true. HP were useless, even through a serious contact route. I shall give that go in a few days. I need to take this item soon, obviously. If you are inclined to stay in touch: <hrdubwd@freelywheely.com> - yea or nay; no problem if not, but just in case? Not expecting to load you ... I manage most things - I have been at it from the beginning!
