I broke my ankle last summer and as part of the treatment was given a great boot that supported my ankle whilst still being able to walk on it. During the process a friend also offered me one that he'd already used, so I ended up with two. They're both in great condition-the hospital won't take them back as the soft inner is material and they're worried about infections, I guess, but if you wear a sock it won't be in direct contact with your skin so I think they'd be super useful for someone else in the same situation.
