Up for sale we have our extra-large and shapely Victorian hammered brass Jardinière/Cache-Pot/ Plant pot.  This was purchased in an Antiques Shop down in *The Lanes* in Brighton many years back, we were advised it was circa 1890.     It depicts one of the all time favourite Victorian flowers (the Pansy) around the  bottom of the pot and retains its delightful original patina. The pot is in good used/aged condition and although it would look equally as beautiful if polished, we preferred the muted look of brass . It was originally purchased for our previous period home, where there once stood a very large and handsome Aspidistra. We now have a contemporary home, hence this reluctant sale.   What a glorious way to showcase your favorite indoor plant...or as a container for an opulent arrangement of flowers! No marks, but typical of English brass work.   CONDITION: Original patina.  DATE: c. 189MEASUREMENTS: 9" tall x 14” at widest part  Bottom diameter: 7” top diameter: 11”.
